Aloha, I am Donna Mintie the Reading Resource teacher at St. Anthony School. Children come to my classroom for extra practice in reading and writing. I have a Master's degree in Education and I have Associate level certification as an Orton-Gillingham tutor. I have experience working with students who have learning differences such as dyslexia. The OG method is a multi-sensory approach which reinforces phonics and spelling rules and enables students to become better spellers and more fluent readers. Some of the materials we use are clay, sand, tactile letters, colored plastic letter squares, beach balls, jump ropes, whiteboards, felt boards, flashcards, and chalkboards. The RR room has books for all ages and all reading levels. Learning to become a better reader and writer should be fun, educational, and engaging.
